Google CC or Your Own Agent's Memory, Shared?

Google CC gives a US family one shared agent. A JustOnce space lets each person ask their own assistant or open it on the web. How the two differ.

ComparisonsHouseholdFamilyShared Spaces

Choose Google's CC if everyone in your house uses Google and lives in the US: it is one family agent with its own Google account and a shared memory for up to six people. Choose a shared JustOnce space to keep your own agent and share chosen records; each person asks whichever assistant they've connected, or opens the space on the web.

We re-read Google's announcement on 26 October 2026; here's the difference.

What is Google CC?

Google Labs turned CC into an agent for families on 17 September 2026. From that announcement:

  • One agent, its own account. CC "has its own Google account that gives CC a distinct identity and clear permissions model", "enabling up to six members to manage and collaborate with the agent."
  • You choose what it sees. "CC only sees what each member chooses to share," such as emails from school, the swim centre or the vet.
  • It does the logistics. A shared "Your Day Ahead" brief each morning, dates and to-dos tracked through Calendar and Tasks, permission slips and registration PDFs filled in, shared Docs and Sheets.
  • It has a shared memory. "CC has a shared memory." It remembers what applies to the whole household, separately from what belongs to one person.
  • Who can use it. It's "available on web and mobile for people (18+) in the U.S with a personal Google account." New users join a waitlist.

That's a serious household product. It shares memory and documents, and it acts on them.

When is Google CC the right choice?

  • Everyone in the house already lives in Gmail, Google Calendar and Docs.
  • You're in the US and happy to wait for a place.
  • You want an agent to do things: fill forms, add events, send the morning brief.
  • You're comfortable with one agent being the household's single point of contact.

When is your own agent's memory, shared, a better fit?

  • You want to keep your own agent. CC is one Google agent that everyone talks to. With a shared memory, you keep the assistant you already use, and your memory lives in JustOnce, not inside one assistant. Each person connects the assistant they prefer, from the ones that work with JustOnce today, and anyone else opens the space in the web app.
  • You're outside the US. CC is available in the US only.
  • You want to share records, not inboxes. CC works by members sharing email, files and calendars with it. Some households would rather save a handful of documents once (the insurance policy, the lease, the rates notice) and keep everything else separate.
  • You want each person's memory kept separate. CC keeps per-person details apart inside its memory, which is well designed. A shared space goes the other way: each person keeps their own private memory in their own account, and only chosen items go into the shared space.

How sharing your agent's memory works

JustOnce is a memory layer your assistant connects to. Each person has their own account and their own private memory. On Plus or Pro, you create a shared space, invite the people you choose, and share particular memories and documents into it.

  • Save once. Hand a photo or PDF to your assistant. Your AI does the reading; JustOnce does the remembering.
  • Invite anyone. Invite anyone by email — no account needed. They create a free one, then accept. Members join free.
  • Approve each share. When your assistant asks to share something or invite someone, nothing is shared or sent until you approve it in JustOnce, and we ask you to confirm it's you.
  • Ask your own way. Each member asks their own assistant, and the answer comes back credited to the person who shared it ("Shared with you by Sam"). Anyone whose assistant isn't connected opens the space in the web app.
  • Files go with their memory. Share the memory a file is attached to and the file goes with it — members open it in the web app.
  • Encryption, plainly. Encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM — memories under a key for their space, documents under a key for your account. JustOnce holds the keys, so it isn't end-to-end.

What JustOnce doesn't do matters just as much here. It doesn't act on your behalf. It won't fill in a form, book things or write a morning brief. It keeps the records and answers from them, and dates in your memories become reminders — on your calendar at app.justonce.ai and by email.

Which assistants connect to JustOnce today?

As of 26 October 2026, JustOnce works with Claude, ChatGPT (Business, Enterprise and Edu), Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, Codex and Claude Code. On ChatGPT Pro your assistant can read your memory but not save to it. Custom connectors are on every Claude plan, and Free accounts can add one, which is all JustOnce needs. Grok Bot is still being tested. CC and the Gemini app are not connected: Google's announcement describes no way to connect CC to an outside memory, and while the Gemini app takes custom apps for people 18 or over in the US with a personal Google Account, JustOnce's sign-in doesn't accept it yet. The Gemini CLI, Google's command-line tool, does connect. We move an assistant to "Works" after a live check passes; the agents page keeps the dated board.

If CC suits your house, use it. If you'd rather keep your own assistant, the sharing guide shows how a shared space works, the sharing page covers roles, and Can I share my AI agent with my partner? compares the personal agents.

Can I Share My AI Agent With My Partner?

Mostly not: Muse and dots each work for one person, and Grok Bot shares memory only through Team Bots at work. What each vendor says, and the alternative.
